I am starting this blog to keep me accountable for eating healthy food and to keep track of my marathon training. I signed up for the Buffalo Marathon, which will be held on May 29, 2011.
Right now, I'm just trying to build my endurance back up because I took 2 weeks off of running since I went back home to NYC to visit my family. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to run outside because a.) It's too crowded on the streets b.) there's a lot of creepos and c.) I couldn't join a gym because daily passes run from $15 to $30. If I spent that much money on a daily pass I would probably end up staying at the gym all day, and that would not be good for my mental or physical health.
I have no official marathon training plan yet, but I am currently researching and will pick one out soon!
I feel a bit defeated and frustrated right now because all my endurance was lost during those 2 weeks of being sedentary. But I should look on the bright side and be thankful that I can even run. Another thing I'm a little frustrated about is that I bought new running shoes (Brooks), and they don't feel that great to run in and have given me blisters. I guess I should have stuck to what I knew since my last 3 pairs of running shoes were Asics.
I'll be back to post my post my goals, healthy eating plan, and so on.
